Emergency Services Day and 5K CPD Foot Pursuit!!!

On September 9th, 2017 the office of Community Oriented Policing hosted the 1st Emergency Services Appreciation Day in Suggett Park. The event was coordinated with local emergency service providers including the Cortland City Police Dept., Cortland County Sheriff's Dept., Homer Police Dept., Suny Cortland Police Dept., New York State Troopers, New York State DEC, Cortland City Fire Dept., Cortlandville Fire Dept., Homer Fire Dept, TLC Ambulance, Cortland County Health Dept., and Life Net Helicopter!

Each department brought equipment and knowledge to share with anyone interested in coming out to meet Cortland's emergency service providers. This interactive day allowed for hands-on opportunities as well as live demos.

This years fun filled day will have all of the same service providers in attendance and in addition, we will be partnering up with the Law Enforcement Softball Tournament. The softball tournament is a fundraiser for the NY Special Olympics Torch Run. The event is free, and food will be available for purchase. Our event will be held in Beaudry Park on Sunday September 29th, 2019 from 10am-2pm. In addition, the "CPD Foot Pursuit" 5k run/walk will kick the day off at 9am, beginning at Beaudry Park. Registration to begin at 8am. All proceeds will help support the Cortland Community Policing Office, in hosting other future community events. A link to register for the race can be found below. The pre-registration fee is $25 or $30 on the day of the race. All paid runners/walkers will receive a CPD Foot Pursuit shirt. So come out and meet your emergency service providers and cheer on our Special Olympic athletes. Hope to see all of you there!!
